Digestive Detox

May 17, 2023

The reason you experience indigestion, discomfort after eating, and food intolerances is because your digestive system rarely gets the break it needs to rejuvenate.

When you take a few days off and allow your digestive organs to replenish, you body cleanses itself.

It’s a bit like going on vacation, to let your mind recharge.

No need for harsh detoxes, complete fasting or anything extreme.

A simple kitchari cleanse for a few days does the trick without depriving your body of essential nutrients!

After the cleanse you’ll find yourself feeling lighter, and more energized, as your gut bacteria replenishes itself.   Not only that, many of my clients have found their food intolerances disappear completely….

“I needed to call and tell you I ate Pizza!!  Cheese and gluten, no problem after doing this cleanse!!!!  I’m shocked “ - Alison

The best part about this cleanse is that the ingredients are simple and you can prepare everything you need at home.

What is kitchari?

Two Powerful Ways to Beat Sugar Cravings

Feb 23, 2023

Sugar cravings can be a major obstacle for many people when trying to maintain a healthy diet. Not only does sugar taste good, but it also activates the release of dopamine in the brain, providing a temporary feeling of pleasure and reward. Unfortunately, consuming too much sugar can lead to a variety of health problems, including weight gain, increased risk of type 2 diabetes, and even depression.

Luckily, there are some natural remedies that can help reduce sugar cravings. Cinnamon and holy basil, which are also known as tulsi, are two herbs that have been shown to be effective in beating sugar cravings.

Cinnamon is a spice that has been used for centuries for its flavour and health benefits. Not only is cinnamon a natural sweetener, it has been shown to help regulate blood sugar levels. This helps prevent sugar cravings by reducing spikes and dips in blood sugar levels. To stop sugar cravings with cinnamon, try adding it to your coffee, tea, or smoothie. Hair loss and greying can generally be an indicator of excess vata or pitta in the system. So you want to use things that are cooling and moisturizing. Here’s what I’m putting in my hair mask these days.

To make it (watch the video for portions) :

1. Put some aloe gel into yogurt

2. Add rose water

3. Add oil. I like to use olive oil but you can also use coconut oil and avocado oil

4. Add some shikaki, brahmi and neem

5. Mix it and put it in your hair!

I use this 2-3 times a week for at least 30 minutes (but usually ends up being a couple hours). No need for a hair conditioner anymore!
